Students Create HOPE KITS for Medical Teams International

Laurel Ridge has done such a great job of helping Haiti over the past two and a half years that we decided to move on and help another organization. With the help of the student body, the entire school voted to support Medical Teams International, an organization that aims to, according to their website, "serve the people stricken by disaster, conflict and poverty all over the world with the most effective programs possible."

The school has started its first donation.   A 4 week donation period started recently to gather materials for Hope Kits, from April 30th to May 25th:

  • Week 1:  Combs, brushes, soap, and spiral notebooks
  • Week 2:  Washcloths, pencils, colored pencils, and pencil sharpeners
  • Week 3:  Adult and child toothbrushes, toothpaste, and construction paper
  • Week 4:  Gallon garbage bags, jumbo storage bags, stickers, and any extra supplies
All the collected donations will be organized by students in the Leadership class so that Medical Teams International can create Hope Kits.

Start bringing in supplies today to support such a good cause!   For more information about Medical Teams International, visit their website here!
